I don't think anyone that was talking about a down turn in the farm economy was saying it was going to be that bad this fall. Everyone that compares this to the 80's knows that it takes more then one year to get to the real bad times. The 80's down turn started in 1980 and land didn't reach bottom until about 86 or 87. I know because I bought some land in 1984 for about half price that it had sold for in about 1978. By 1986 it had gone to half price of what I had paid for it. To say this year after less then one year of bad prices that everyone was wrong about tough times coming is just ridiculous.
