No $4.00 corn at 170bpa ( average for my area)with 10% discount on all costs gets me to even.most guys I talk to need $5.00 + . $4 corn with 170bpa= $680/acre, my cost, seed$80,fert$80,chem&2apps$45,ins$25,plant&harvestexspense including fuel & equip, $50,total $280, plus my average cash rent per rented acre $150/acre=$430, this years & last years corn crop will average 175 bu/acre, if it costs you $680/ acre to produce an acre of corn how do you plan on still farming in the future? | |
