NC Kansas
I see, makes sense, just didn't add up from where I'm located. Lots of good advice here, What would the old man say if your labor just walked away...would he complain? would he miss you? would he hire another hand? Would he admit to missing your contributions? These are a few questions that might be worth asking yourself...not that you would do it, but maybe dad would see things differently if you weren't around. Things might be different when you are in you 30's and he's in his 60's. If you want to stick it out that long and "find out" then I'd get something going on the side to fall back on if the farming never materializes to your liking.
