I was told ( not necessarily my opinion) that Roundup kills the entire plant and you will run a risk of standability issues if delayed to harvest. They say salt will only burn leaves and top of plant leaving the stalk green. Following that advice I ran salt last year and it worked perfectly, easier to combine , lower moisture and perfect standing. After a couple of weeks it was off and growing again.
