If you are that long to a freeze, killing the milo may help you quite a bit. In addition to speeding grain drydown, I think killing it also saves soil moisture for the next crop.

We don't do it every year, but when we plan to follow the milo with wheat, it makes more sense than waiting, IMO. We have had better kills with ground rigs, but there IS some crop damage.
