Subject: RE: Corn versus Milo in crop rotation with cotton

South Texas
I've read that article comparing corn and milo yields a few times. The claims of water use are useless, given no information on population, hybrid, and expected yield. I am sure us desert people can make our first bushel on much less water than wetland people, we just don't aim so high. We shoot for 50-100 bushels while they shoot for 200-300.

There may be some corn hybrids out now that can outyield milo on low rainfall, and as milo gets more expensive and labor intensive to grow I'm going to give it more of a try. Neighbor's corn last year nearly doubled the yield of my milo, and I did a really good job on that milo.
