| Bryan, I think the boys are being a wee bit harsh on you. A nice late model 16 row applicator is pretty expensive for a couple days use a year.used to be when you bought your fertilizer the application equipment was included in the price. Now seems like $4.50 acre is going rate to rent the bar. If things go well, should be able to knock out about 300 acres day. That's $1350 gross for the bar.Now if I owned that bar and was sending it out for rental, would I want the customer to be able to do 65 acres or 300? There's a manager at that coop that needs an economics lesson. There's no excuse for that. But I guess I'm spoiled because my fertilizer retailers have outstanding, well maintained equipment, and department managers that have a clue. Show this to the guy in charge and see if he agrees or disagrees. Then you can make a decision going forward if you want to do business with an outfit like that. | |
