Subject: RE: Kinze 4900 Planter: Pursuing Legal Remedy

Gentlemen,

Great dialogue and I agree with many of your opinions. We have owned Kinze 2200, 2600, 3200, 3600, and 3800 series planters and they were simple and reliable. Thats why we kept buying them. Our experience with our 4900 Planter is just the opposite. Mechanical and software issues that should have been improved before going to market in a commercial launch. If the customers with the issues dont communicate, organize and send a message to the manufacturer that we dont want to pay full price AND be "Test Subjects" what will keep this from happening again each year?

John Deere waited a year before introducing their new electric planter, and although they wont get first the "first to market position", they may get the "most reliable product position."

We aren't questioning or criticizing Kinze's past products, we are trying to learn if others with the Kinze 4900 planter had similar experiences as us. We have exhausted all avenues, including the dealer, Kinze Rep and now Suzie. At the end of the day we still own the 4900 planter not ready for commercial farming, in our opinion, and our 3600 series planters ran perfect. We tried to trade the 4900 planter off for a new Case 24 row mid planting season and the Case IH dealer told us " We have been approached by 8 other customers with Kinze 4900s that are having the same issues, and we aren't interested in trading because of the Kinze 4900s reputation." Also a customer at our dealer had traded his new 4900 Planter back for a 3660 Planter.

Those with Kinze 4900 planters with similar experiences thanks for your responses and please continue to email me a [email protected]
