SW Ohio | One of my buddies does this as part of his utility subcontracting. Phone company was relocating some underground phone lines for a road project and not being the experts that buddie is they pulled back with the locator still on the head, snapped it off underground and never could find it, Mitchco's company was doing the road and he had them on the lookout for the head as buddie said he would give $5000 for it if they found it, never did.
One thing bad about the process is you never know just what you are boring through, case in Cincy last year had a sewer pipe bore right through a gas main, wasn't found until a couple houses blew up. | |
