I have been out a mile OK but it was line off sight. if you go behind a building you can lose signal at a 100 feet. I lose signal with the video before the transmitter. I was out at 1 mile last night and my go pro shut off so put it to home lock and hoped it was coming home. A very long 5 minutes latter it showed up
