Subject: RE: Frost-proofing a barn door - Morton sliding door

south east SD
I have same problem with a south facing slider. Every year the frost moves the post up enough to wrinkle the tin a little on the west side of the door. I think I need to remove the dirt/clay away from the post and put in pea rock so the frost can't grab the post as easy and raise it. I have a cement frost free " lip " that the slider runs in to keep the doors stable and the birds out. Same thing happens in the north east corner of the building, no door just the corner! The building is 172 x 60 with poles 8 foot on center and only 2 poles do it. I should take pictures.
