East Central Ia | How are you tightening them?
I ask because I recently had to adjust mine on my MT855c track machine to repair the reaction arm bearing and was surprised how precise Agco was about the wedge lock tightening procedure.
I had to tighten the bolts in a sort of star pattern, similar to a wheels lug nuts, to a certain torque. I had to do this twice at around 400ft/lbs I think and then repeat a third time at 340ft/lbs or so. I think there were twelve bolts in the hub and on the third round tightening if any of the last 4-6 blts in the tightening pattern moved at all you had to make a 4th pass around.
I was surprised how much some of them loosened up while going around so if you are just going around in a star pattern and tightening them up in one round it's very possible that the wedge is not even getting tight to begin with. | |
