Mercer County, Ohio on the Indiana line | I agree that incorporating residue into the seed zone is a No No. This is only my third year of COC and this farm. We had over 200 bu/ac on this farm last year, but with these planting conditions (too late to repair?) I don't think I will see that this year.
I'm hoping to notill 60 of the 200 acres on this farm. We had cover crops seeded on that 60 last fall but dad bought 20 loads of chicken manure on a whim and because of the flooding we working it in after getting it spread in February. What do you do with all the flooding that this farm can get in notill?
I'm attaching pictures of the farm in early march after a 2.5" rain.
