Subject: RE: early planting "risks"

East central Iowa, Camanche, Iowa
In addition to what this article talks about one needs to looks at the stress on the young plant. Planting in cold, wet soils require the plant to use much of it's vigor for survival instead of determining a greater maximum potential yield. Also, the soil biological activity that is required to "mineralize" nutrients into a usable form for the plant is very low.

My goal is to provide the most stress free enviroment for the seedling so it can use more of it's vigor and the available soil nutrients for growth and not survival. For me, waiting (which is still very hard for me to do) has resulted in better and more consistent yields.

Lord, give me patience.........AND GIVE IT TO ME NOW!!!!!!!
