NW TX Panhandle
Zinc helps the plants utilize P. In my thinking, I like to have some available very early when P is not as available to the plants due to low soil temperatures (<60 degrees). Next very important period is following silking, during grain fill is another significant time of high P uptake where Zn is also much needed. This later period is easier to satisfy Zn requirements as the root mass has been established & should be able to find adequate levels if present in the soil.
