You need to use an oil WITHOUT Molybdenum (aka moly).

Any kind of oil that says "friction modifiers" or "improved economy" or anything like that is NOT the kind of oil to use in an ATV or Motorcycle. Your ATV has a wet clutch. The moly will coat/soak your wet clutch and reduce how much torque your clutch can transmit.

If you think of a clutch kind of like a brake (friction pads on steel). Using moly is like soaking your brake pads in oil.

We have good luck here running Shell Rotella in our ATVs and dirt bikes with wet clutches. We run the "triple T protection 15w40" (white jug) in the lower performance stuff, and in the transmission side of the higher performance toys with a separate tranny/engine sump. In the 450 stuff we run the "T6 synthetic 5W-40" (blue jug, synthetic). You can buy it at Wal-Mart or TSC for reasonable prices.
