Mid Michigan | Redline if the bolt breaks off you can get the compressor off without lifting out the engine. I would just get a good box end wrench on there and hit it good with one hand and it should break loose. I did it on my navigator a few years ago so it's possible. I agree it's a miserable location for the compressor. I ended up buying a new Autolite or Motorcraft compressor from Rock Auto for about $200. It was brand new not rebuilt and installed pretty easy and has worked ever since. I recharged the coolant myself. | |
