Subject: Re: Question about intensive grazing

Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot
I have several water troughs in the pasture, each which will serve several pastures. (Located in the fence corners)

It works well, but do to freezing temps here even in the spring and fall, we have to bury all water lines. PIA.

Doing things over I would set up a lane that runs along one side of all of the pastures. Have one permenant water trough on concrete. Here we would have dust blowing out of the lane year round, but no mud problems with that idea. The way we set things up here is more dictated by irrigation than anything. Like on my home place all fences have to be located up on a check so it doesn't interfere with the flood irrigation. Other places have sprinkler pipes and wheelines to work around.
