SC, MN. | I think your grass is already to tall, they are going to stomp on more than they eat. I would assume that all of your pastures are all in the same stage. One of the tricks to rotational grazing is how you manage the spring flush. There is usually way more tonnage than you can possibly use. I would cut & bale some of it & stock pile it to supplement in July/Aug when or if the cattle start to getting far ahead of the regrowth. I've had the best luck moving them to a new pasture every 4 days & clip whats left over so it regrows even. When a cow bites off a piece of grass I think it starts to regrow on day 4-5. If they are still in this pasture they will start grazing the new regrowth even closer to the ground & you'll have uneven regrowth. I have attended a few mtg's & the GURU's say to graze it hard (stock desity) fast & move on.
