Subject: Re: JD 4650 vs AC 8070

Saronville NE
I had a 4650 for 7 yrs, 2wd. Ran a 8050 MFD for 6 yrs when I worked at a Feedlot before coming home to farm. Tranny is better in 4650 for the right gears ( but I wont tell you a 15sp Ps is good, they are a moneypit waiting to happen wont ever own another) the JD has more low end torque when pulling. The 8050 was good tractor, it got abused and held up a lot better then our 4650 ever would of. Only thing I never liked on the 8050 was, not enuff gears for fieldwork, and always wanted to run warm with heavy pulls, we always took the fiberglass side panels off when heavy pulls and it would stay cooler that way. They are cheap, here, nobody wants em, you can buy 8000 ACs in the teens, I have considered buying one in the future, just to have a cheap FWA feedwagon tractor.
