Those engines originally have small drain hoses to keep any fuel that leaks out the valley. If yours are bad or gone, then it might be the injection pump input seal. There are actually two seals and the drain is between them. This keeps the diesel out of the engine (and the engine from turning into scrap) if the inner one leaks. The pump must be removed to fix it.
