southern nebraska | nothing in southern Nebraska, last year was the worst since '91 (ave. 35 bu dry corn) and this year I can see no need to harvest 1000 ac of dryland corn. Last year we burned up after ear set and we had good pollination but could not fill. This year corn is v8 to just tasseling and getting crispy leaves. Can't even chop as most will be too short. We have 4 foot tall brome in the ditches that is getting brown, just waiting for a big fire | |
