Central Ohio
Thanks for the good information.

Tony, the check is in the mail, lol. I don't know about your planned exit, since i am hoping to build this unit on the same 25 acres that my house and other barn sits on. I am trying to provide myself with a source of income 10-15 years from now so i can move toward farming full time. Quick turn-around is not really the purpose.

Nice picture above too. After hearing about how bad my barn will look in 10 years, it is good to see some proof otherwise. I know of a couple growers around my area that have barns over 10 years old, and it seems like they hold up pretty well as long as you take care of them.

I am just starting, so i can't really compare the estimated expenses/revenues to what you are proposing. Since i am having to barrow the money, it is definitely going to have to work out on paper before i jump in. Nothing in farming is easy, so why would anyone expect getting into the pig business to be any different?

Thanks again.
