lime here is about 35$/ton in a pile at the field. Ph on ground that hasnt been limed for 10-15 years(pretty common here) is usually in the low 5's. Your doing good on pH.

You need to find an alternative way to throw some nutrients at those fields. I agree more commercial fertilizer would be cost prohibitive.

Maybe find a way to supplement the shortage of soil supplied p and K on an annual basis. Something in furrow or starter of some sort. Something to overcome the shortage, since it is going to be so expensive to correct with fetilizer... this would allow higher yield ceiling.
