Subject: Re: Henbit and Chickweed

Near-north Ontario, French River
In corn we generally don't worry about chickweed, its usually starting to die off by time we get into plant corn. We no-till probably 50% of our corn so what chickweed is still alive when we plant gets killed of when we do our pre-emerge on the corn, generally Rup/primextra/Callisto. We go pre-emerge when no-tilling because we run trashwhippers on the planter, the whippers peal back any chickweed that's in the row area, so it really isn't an issue. Best time to get chickweed is in the fall, after soys or before wheat planting. We typically use Rup at that time.
