It looks better with the snow on it. Is it the same field? Looks like I can see wheat sticking above the snow? The latter field looks way shorter?

Yes different fields. Field with the snow on it has a little old grass from expired CRP sticking out. Caught a little bit more snow. Picture at the top of this thread (bare ground) is a field that has been sown to wheat a couple years, but we have not had enough rain to even get a stubble built up.


Just wondering if the CRP rate was not economically feasible or if the opportunity wasn't there to renew? Or maybe not your decision? How does crop insurance work on land coming out of CRP? Hope you guys out west start getting some moisture soon.
