Subject: Baled cornstalks: What value was removed from the field?

Mid-Missouri
Lets say I removed 1500#/acre of cornstalks that were baled. I simply removed the chopper on the combine and followed it around...half cobs and husk, half stalk material from the header. For easy figuring, assume the material removed is even throughout the field, instead of material only removed where the baler drove. This is a bottom field that often floods, but because of the drought, was one of our better fields, maybe 120 bpa.

In your opinion, what value in nutrients, fertilizer, o.m., etc... was removed from the field?

The field is fertile from the frequent flooding that occurs. Having said that, if I sell these cornstalk bales, it would be best to at least recover the cost of what was removed from the field, along with the baling cost.

Thanks.
