| We raised some @ UM/Columbia in the early 90's. We usually frost seeded it with a fourwheeler. Stands were eratic, we always seeded 150-175% of the total acres we hoped to harvest and then hunted around with the combine to get the best spots. When you got into a good patch it wasn't to bad combining. Just don't fill the hopper or it will never come out. I always had a broom handle on the combine to poke it down while unloading. There was one noxious weed we always had trouble with controlling. Back then we had to flag them and burn them out, in wheat stubble that was always an adventure(keep water handy). If I remember wnat it was I will post it on here for ya. | |
