Thumb of Michigan | Never lost any to frost. Always no-tilled them into corn stalks/ rye cover if possible. Have had some get nicked a bit in soy stubble. Don't think I'd try it on clean soil- although a neighbor did exactly that last year and had some very good yields. Those were planted more like the first week of April. They had the sugar beets planted, and thought it was too early for corn. I've planted soys even earlier than March and harvested them. Never a lot of acres, though. | |
