I think higher mileage newer vehicles can be pretty good buys, especially if you can verify how they were driven and maintained.
If you have some mechanic abilities you can save yourself a lot of money. Shouldn't be any major repairs, but wheel bearings, HVAC fans, shocks, etc often need to be replaced around the mid 100's to 200k and they are cheap fixes if you can do them yourselves.
