NC IA | neighbor had one in, I think, a Celebrity? Have a 5.7d in my 82 Cutlass. Original engine got to where it used a qt of oil to 50 miles. I put head gaskets in it back when I went to tech school, that's when I made up my mind I wanted no part of being an auto mechanic. A few years later, I transplanted a new used 5.7 in it, out of a Cadillac. I bought the Caddy from the original owner, who swore it had well north of 300,000 original miles on it. (hey, you read it on the internet.) I did nothing to the engine when I swapped it in my Cutlass, but I haven't drove it much since. | |
