Central Iowa | I drove to Kansas City over the weekend to see family..... There were many pastures in southern IA and northern MO that had anhydrous applied. I think there will be A LOT of corn planted next year on marginal ground plus more corn on corn in the corn majors like Iowa/Illinois with 2013 corn trading at 6.30ish. This is despite the 2012 drought. What that means if we get no rain next year? - anyone's guess, maybe $10 corn?? I don't know, but I think farmers in the marginal corn growing areas will respond to $6.30ish 2013 corn prices by planting more corn. Just my $0.02. | |
