ECIL | Without having read all the posts, in small claims each party presents their own side to the judge personally. HOWEVER, since the church is most likely set up as a corporation they will show up with a lawyer (required in IL to have lawyer representation for a corporation) who will likely shoot you down fast. Small claims is meant for disputes between individuals personally. The only real chance you'd have is if the church didn't show up with legal representation. I'm no lawyer, this is what I understand about the process.
