Estimation 55/85 = .647 for the 50/50 is OK if you left 50/50 field with the tank empty (0%).
But if something remain in the tank, i.e. 5%, at 50/50 you are really using only 50/85 = .588.
But remember you are trusting in a gauge, are you sure it is working well?, the truck is well leveled?, if not is only a reference, but if you need a real good accuracy, you must weight between and at the end.
