without running any numbers, i don't know if 'a few spots' on 500 acres will pay you back the 5-6K. might be a stretch. as another poster stated, the soil type perscriptions seem like almost a joke for our ground. last year i mapped my own going off yield map and knowledge of where the sandy spots are. Takes some time, but can be kinda fun if thats your thing!
