I do 90% of my welding with a 6013 rod.  The 6011 splatters to much , but is good if you don't want the flux running into your weld like it does with 6013.  6013 is what the welding professor at Univ. of Nebr. taught us to use. 

I too use the Miller Dial-matic.  Nice.
