| I Have 3 irrigation reservoirs and the ducks prefer one over the other 2. The only difference is that the "duck lake" is surrounded by trees on 2 sides and protected from wind on the 3rd side by the dam on another lake which protects it from wind. The duck lake is also the most secluded.
Geese seem to prefer the largest lake of the three which is wide open but surrounded by crop fields for feeding.
