SCMN | I agree, the fact that people work their whole life, paying plenty of tax along the way, only to pay massive tax on it again when they try to pass it on to the next generation is absurd. This is not a fun topic to discuss and it's very easy to let emotion get the best of you. Regardless of what the exemption level changes to there are still a lot of farming heirs that will be subject to a major tax burden with land values at these crazy levels. What are the thoughts of the group on buying an irrevocable life insurance policy to cover the tax and gifting that policies payout to the kids? | |
