What kind of interior walls do you have?
Are they 2x4 or 2x6 walls?
What kind of windows are in there now?
How much insulation is in the ceiling now.
My old house had plaster & lath with back plaster on the outside walls.
I tore out ALL the plaster & laths to the outside walls. Added new 6" kraft faced insulation (kraft to the inside room) with a vaper barrier on the inside then sheet rock.
Defiantly add more insulation to the ceiling, depending on what you have now.
I put all new Anderson windows in my house with the oldest 30 years old next year & they are still in good shape.
Put in plenty of electrical outlets while you have the walls tore out.
This made a worlds of difference on how to cool & heat this old house.
Had I had the money back then I would've or should've started from scratch & built new. Funds are tight when your young.
