Sometimes there are large uncovered bills......a friend needs a special drug that even though he has great employer-provided insurance, is not covered. I think he said it costs $400 and it is a daily thing, and he needs it for several weeks. Cancer costs are debilitating, even with insurance.
Rehab, long-term care and nursing home care is another area that is sparsely covered.
