Some say lead shot rolled around works good , perhaps even steel shot . Use a bit fluid to help get the rust in to suspension. Diesel fuel works as it is a bit oily but still light enough to pour out quickly .
Also read of a tank liner poured in after cleaning . The guys at ytmag.com are a great resource for information.
