Subject: RE: Wet Distillers grain storage

Tain, Scotland
I store a couple of hundred tonnes of this every year in a purpose built store ie concrete floor 6ft walls and lined with polythene. I also put sugar beet pulp in which dryes up the water and also makes it an even better feed. A cheap store can be made out of Heston bales lined with plastic. It is better to pack it as well I use the quad bike after pushing it up with the telescopic. Best sealed with polythene. Great feed high protein my suckler cows get 10-12kg/hd plus ad-lib barley straw. Back when I worked in a dairy 20 years ago it was ad-lib silage, 5kg draff (Scoittish for distillers grains) and turnip.

Cheers BB
