My brother in law bought a 03 fl 70 in maryville Tennessee. It has an oil leak between the compresser and the engine block. I have been told the basket is bad. How hard is that to fix and are there any special tools riquired? Planning on flying out Monday morning from Sioux falls to knoxville to go get it. Would like to fix it before driving 1200 miles with it. Would like to bring a few tools with to do it instead of relying on the seller to having correct tools. There is a freightliner dealer 20 miles away. Between 400 and 600 to fix. Is it worth the headache to fix by myself? Also what if any papers do I need to drive from Tennessee to south Dakota. I have a class A CDL and medical card. Anything special the dot is going to bug me for between there and here. Also do I need fire ext. and triangles? Will I need a log book if it will be registered as a farm truck or rv? Thanks for all advice. Can try to clear up any confusion if your not clear on what I am asking.
