Subject: Re: Raven 440 Problem

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.

If the butterfly valve has 2123 on it then it is a Standard Valve and the Console should be set in Standard.  This was the only choice in older consoles.  Newer consoles have other options which is why you should check the settings by holding down the Self-Test button.

Various letters will cycle by or complete words if the console is fairly new.  You want US for United States measurements for Gallons and Acres.  The next word or abreviation is for the speed source.  This could be SP1 for a wheel sensor or SP2 for radar.  Depedning on the age of the console there may be more.  The next item if present is the control type.  You want to see SD or Standard for your valve.

Enter in 2123 for the Valve Cal and try the rig.  If you have a pump speed setting separate from the Raven this will have an effect on how the overall system behaves.  If the pump speed is too low you won't make rate.  If the pump speed is too high the control valve may have trouble holding the excess flow back.  Agitation and other factors affect this as well.
