It's now March. And alot of folks call "near board" April.
Seems to me like if your -1.50 CASH off those board prices, perhaps your just whining for lack of noise anyway. lol.
There's a 30 to 35% chance the spring high is behind us.
However, seasonally that would be 30 to 45 days early as comped to long term law of avgs.
On retesting your March paper high scenario:
Don't know.
Healthiest Cash market is generally when paper lags cash by 3 to $5.
Cash may simply lead paper from here on out ( that also is the rule rather than the exception this time of year ).
Keep in mind most paper dough is spec, and there's a lot better places to have that than cattle futures now.
Equities are definitiely king.
On protiens, yes the meats are good, but Soy IS the run for specs.
% wise the $2 to $3 up likely in soy is achievable in the next 90 days.
( that equates to $26 cwt up in paper cattle, hmmmm., perhaps just a touch steep total capital requirements for supposed processors on such an immediate basis )
You can call the trend lower if you desire Gary.
