I have often thought that for electric cars there should be a standard sized, replaceable, rented battery. This way if you wanted to go further you could pull into a service station and buy a charged battery and get going again, in about the same time as filling a petrol tank. Then the service station recharges it and sells it tomorrow, like swap and go gas cylinders. Would work when batteries get better. Big cars could have more batteries. All cars could have 2 batteries so you can properly discharge one before paying to swap it. We just need to think differently
