tomram the some of my super stony areas are not cropped, others are wheat pasture in alternate years and better country is cropped wheat wheat canola.
its just a matter of adapting and rainfall dispertion meaning small showery events are better for rock than heavy event as the soil doesnt hold alot of moisture.
last year we had 36 bushels of wheat on some nasty country
