Pittsburg, Kansas

We used to have a lot of grain sorghum planted around here. When I was in high school (68-72) my dad and only a handful of other farmers were about the only ones still planting corn. Milo ruled. Now it is the opposite. Can hardly find a field of milo around here. Milo yields basically stayed stagnant or only improved a little while corn yield averages are approaching double what they were back then. Lots more money to be made by seed companies improving a corn variety than milo. Also, no RR milo varieties and I hope there never will be. Too closely ralated to shatter cane and Johnson grass for my comfort.

The standing joke if someone ask me what herbicide to use on milo is I say "Roundup -- works great on it".
