Cedar Rapids, Iowa | WAAS will have times where it is relatively stable for an hour or two, and then it will drift 2 feet over just a couple minutes. In my static accuracy testing, 24 hours of data points usually fall inside a circle that is between 4 and 5 feet in diameter. Over a longer time period, you'll see more drift than that.
I'm not sure if any of the systems will let you re-align your old map to the current GPS position to cancel out the drift. It is quite hard to measure without a solid reference point.
The result you will likely see is that you'll have an unplanted gap on one end of the field, and will be planting in to the endrows on the other end.
If you're looking to do this on the cheap, go buy a used JD iTC receiver. JD's SF1 signal is a lot more stable than WAAS is.
