I hate to see farmers pay way more for a PWM valve than they should. I have 8 of the small Brand Electronic Flow control valves on different spreaders. Some just on the conveyor and some on both the conveyor and spinners. With a Land Manager controlling them, the actual rate is usually within 1% of the target. These valves have the most common version of control orifice size and coil. Northern Tool sells these in the upper $200 range. They are available in 10 to 30 gpm flow sizes. There is nothing secret about PWM valves. They are not polarity sensitive, so it is impossible to wire it wrong. For a sensor, I prefer the one built into the drive motor, but that takes a special order. I also use a simple proximity sensor (about ($80 from McMaster) on a sprocket (or bolt head) at times. This is a little more complicated. A very little tech savvy can save you a lot of money.
